As the President of the FEI Dressage Committee, Mariette was responsible for shaping and developing Dressage globally for eight years.
She officiated at 4 World Equestrian Games, was President of the Ground Jury at the Athens Olympic Games, and Technical Delegate at the Sydney and Beijing Olympics.
And judged more than 120 World Cup qualifiers and 7 World Cup Finals, several European, North, South, and Central American Championships as well as Asian and Pan Am Games.
Mariette was a driving force in the establishment and popularity of the Kur to Music. Together with Dr. Reiner Klimke and Herman Duckek, she initiated the World Cup Finals series with the Kur to music as the deciding class for the title.
As an FEI Course Conductor, Instructor, and Coach, nearly all the current FEI dressage judges in the world have attended courses to become an International Judge under Mariette's tutelage.
Organizing international competitions for more than 20 years, Mariette co-founded the Dressage World Cup and AIDEO (the Association of International Dressage Event Organisers) and is the co-founder, long-time Chair, and current Honorary President of the International Dressage Officials Club.
An international dressage trainer of repute, the Brazilian Equestrian Federation placed their Dressage Team's preparation for the 2016 Rio Olympics in Mariette Withages' capable hands when they named her as the official Dressage team trainer and technical advisor in 2014.
